Hyperopia
Farsightedness. A condition in which visual images come to a focus at a point behind the retina of the eye and vision is better for distant than for near objects.

Myopia
Nearsightedness. A condition in which visual images come to a focus at a point in front of the retina of the eye resulting in defective vision of distant objects.

Amblyopia
Lazy eye. Dimness of sight, especially in one eye without apparent change in the eye structures.

Strabismus
Inability of one eye to attain binocular vision with the other because of imbalance of the muscles of the eyeball. Crossed eyes, or squint.

Cataract
A clouding of the lens of the eye or of is surrounding transparent membrane that obstructs the passage of light.

Astigmatism
A condition in which rays from a point fail to meet in a focal point resulting in a blurred and imperfect image, due especially to a corneal irregularity.
